Band Department
(Woodwind, Brass, and Percussion)

The Band Department emphasizes basic to advanced technical studies of fingering, tone production, breathing, embouchures, articulation and note and rhythmic reading.

Standard literature in Band Performance is taught including classical, marches, Pops, and Jazz. Entrance grade is Junior High School Intermediate Level and through Adult Artist Level.

An outreach of the Advanced Band Department is performing in the Institute Symphony Orchestra and small ensembles. The Band season includes three terms and a minimum of four performances per year.
