Guitar Department

The Guitar Department places emphasis on guitar holding position, learning to play chords in major and minor patterns, strumming styles, technique an note reading in accompanying songs and pieces. Emphasis on quick finger and chord changes in the classical style. Students perform on acoustical guitars.

The Guitar Season includes three terms and a gap summer ensemble and camp program. The season also includes a minimum of four performances per year.

Students also have the opportunity to study concertos and solos privately with our artist Guitar teachers on Mondays and Tuesdays in increments of 20, 30, 45, or 60 minute lessons.
