String Department
(Violin, Viola, Cello and Bass)

The String Department is affiliated with the Suzuki Association of the Americas. The department teaches a combination of the Suzuki Method, the Bornoff Method &Traditional reading method.

Emphasis on holding positions of the instrument and bow, including posture, tone production, intonation and rhythmic patterns applied to Suzuki repertoire of pieces by Mozart, Bach, etc. and other Master composers of music.

Other styles of playing include jazz, fiddling, and pop. And outreach of the String Department is the Symphony Orchestra and small ensemble program for advanced players. 

The string season includes two semesters of study and a minimum of four performances along with a summer music camp program. Also a summer gap program of private study.
